Alan founded Emerald Investment Partners in 2012.
During this career he has been part of management teams that have successfully grown businesses across a wide range of sectors.
Alan recently co-founded and led the IPO of Cairn Homes plc in Jul-15 – now an €800m market cap Irish housebuilder listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Other transactions Alan has co-led or has been an investor in include Pizza Express, Center Parcs PropCo, Wellington PubCo and Topps Tiles plc.
Neil was previously a Corporate and M&A lawyer with Slaughter and May in London and Hong Kong from 1986-2016 and a partner for 20 years.
He has deep experience in private and public M&A, private equity, capital markets and financing across the UK, Hong Kong, China and Asia Pacific region. Neil was a senior partner in Hong Kong for the last 15 years.
Neil’s recent deals include advising Overseas-Chinese Banking Corporation on its takeover of Wing Hang Bank (US$4.95bn), the largest third-party takeover in Hong Kong banking history. He also acted for HSBC in relation to its investment into Ping An Insurance (US$600m) and Diageo’s acquisition of Chinese whisky company ShuiJingFang (US$1bn).
Other deals include acting for Burberry in relation to its acquisition of its China retail business from its previous JV partner, and acting for China Netcom in relation to its US$1bn investment into PCCW, Hong Kong's leading telecommunications company.
Neil has known Alan for two decades through working with Slaughter and May.
